this year i finished by first year of polytechnic, spent almost a year without seeing my sisters (LDR, sigh), started working part-time while schooling, became an sc during baoc (oceanus), drank lots of tea, saw hillsongs live, played in the middle position for touch, spent more than a month in china, met a really nice group of friends (sha bi), drank beer & whiskey and entered into a KTV lounge for the first time, played my second POL-ITE season, tried out for NTL and got scouted, started to learn how to drive.
many firsts this year, i'd say.
although this year's peaks and dips felt so much more pronounced, i think it's because i'm growing as an individual and paying more attention to my feelings and my surroundings. didn't really get around to feeling excited for the new year until i started reading other peoples' reflections and resolutions for 2015.
next year will be exciting. it'll be last official year being a teenager, before the big 2-, and it's also my last year in poly & most probably in singapore too, at least for the foreseeable future. i'll also be starting third year in my choice of specialization and spending my final semester as an intern, i really hope it's somewhere that will stretch my mind and that i'll meet people that will serve as good mentors to me. who knows what else the new year will bring, but it's always good to remember that god is in control, and that even the darkest hour lasts only 60 minutes. stay humble, stay hungry and never settle for second best
